Whether you need caps for a small security company or to clothe an army, we are ready to design and manufacture the products you require.
Our design expertise
At Try & Lilly, we’ve been designing hats for over 150 years. As one of our customers, all of that experience will be at your disposal.
From selecting a style that suits the purpose of the headwear through to choosing the fabrics and colours, and on to the finishing touches, our expert designers will work closely with you and turn your ideas into a reality.
To develop an effective, attractive design as efficiently as possible, we’re able to draw on our vast archive of samples and a pattern library consisting of thousands of past designs. Whether you have something in mind or need a little guidance, we’ll apply our knowledge and experience to ensure your hat or cap design is a success.
The finest workmanship
Following our conversations with you, Try & Lilly’s skilled hatmakers will produce initial samples ready to trial and evaluate. These can then be refined through further iterations and once approved will move forward to large scale production.
For generations, the hat making skills we’ve kept alive in Liverpool have been in demand from customers across the globe who require hats that look fantastic, are comfortable to wear and are tough enough to withstand whatever conditions the wearer may face.
At Try & Lilly, we’re proud to use traditional, high-quality equipment and tools, maintaining and repairing our sewing and cutting machines which continue to outperform and outlast low-cost modern alternatives. Cheap machining always shows in the end – but it’s never a feature of a Try & Lilly product. We guarantee a quality finish every time.
Ethically sourced and sustainable
As an SME we like to support other small businesses and our raw material supply chain consists largely of SMEs in the UK and Europe. We’ve built long-standing partnerships with these companies, who work with us to meet our exacting requirements.
Purchasing from Try & Lilly is the sustainable choice, firstly because our hats are made to last, retaining form, functionality and appearance far longer than competitor options. Secondly, our components largely consist of natural, renewable, biodegradable fabrics – such as wool or fur felt, wool, cotton or leather.
We tightly monitor and control the use of every material that goes into each hat and its packaging to minimise waste. Biodegradable packaging has always been used by Try & Lilly - not only is it environmentally sound but it provides the best protection for your headwear.
From our packaging and materials to our tools and equipment, across Try & Lilly we follow Reduce, Reuse and Recycle principles. Nothing is discarded if it can be recycled or reused. We are even generating some of the power we use through our solar panels, further reducing our carbon footprint.
